Vote Keith Miller for West Manatee Fire Commissioner

A Fire Commissioner's position is very important. It is the last line of accountability before major decisions are made. The Commissioner helps determine tax increases, decides whether special elections are necessary, and plays a key role in policy decisions and oversight of expenditures. It is important to ensure firefighters have the resources they need to continue doing the excellent work they do while also respecting taxpayers' hard-earned dollars. We are all feeling the challenges of today's economy, and our community deserves thoughtful, responsible representation.

My wife, Del, and I have been married since 1995 and are proud to have raised five sons here in Bradenton, Florida. Our family has deep roots in this community, and for decades we've lived, worked, and invested in the place we call home.

My career has been built on service to the community. I began in 1978 as a commercial fisherman in Cortez and, after changes in regulations, I started a new chapter in fire service at age 45. Over the next 21 years I served both on the front lines and as a Fire Safety Inspector.

I'm running for Fire Commissioner because I believe government should focus on providing essential services and collecting only the taxes necessary to do the job well. Public safety is one of our most important responsibilities, and taxpayers deserve leadership that protects both their families and their wallets.
